Lockdown

Lockdown is the name used by several different bands and groups across hardcore, rap, melodic hardcore and death metal, including acts from Brazil, New York, England, Serbia, Canada, Virginia Beach, San Gabriel Valley and Flint. The Brazilian Lockdown is a death metal band.

One Lockdown is a New York hardcore band formed in 2003. Its line-up includes Eric Roi on lead vocals, Jeff Lombard-i on guitar and lead vocals, Nicky X on guitar, Ivan Gonzalez on bass and Doug Bohn on drums. Roi, Lombard-i and Bohn have all been involved with Bile, while Lombard-i also appears with Napalm, Nicky X with Cro-Mags, and Bohn with Suffocation. The band’s debut album, American Made, is produced by Billy and Danny of Biohazard.

Another Lockdown is a melodic hardcore band from Newcastle in the north east of England, described as playing music for fans of Betrayed, Comeback Kid, Ambitions and Sinking Ships.

Lockdown from Novi Sad, Serbia, forms in 2001 and remains active through lineup changes and other difficulties. It records a demo in 2003, makes a video for “Denied” in 2004, and releases the album Straight from the Heart in early 2008 on SKC Novi Sad.

A short-lived experimental punk band called Lockdown appears in Timmins, Ontario, Canada. A gangsta rap group with the same name comes from Flint, Michigan, and releases Deep Thoughts in 1997.

There is also a hardcore band from Virginia Beach, Virginia, whose sound mixes 1990s New York hardcore with early metalcore. That band releases a demo and the EP No One Is Anyone, includes members from Vengeance, Wipeout!, Downturn, Rotten Borough and Warhead, and plays United Blood 2011.

Another Lockdown is a hardcore band from San Gabriel Valley, California, formed in 2003 and broken up in 2007. It releases Bite the Knife.
