LN

LN is an Ohio slowcore group associated with Gary Murray, with members Nathan Abel, Dalton Brand, Kira Jones, Denny Koop, Gary Murray and Casey VanSickle. The project also has connections to americana, chamber folk and dark ambient.

Background

LN begins as a project known as Love Neptune, before the name is shortened to LN. It releases material on Velvet Blue Music. The name change is explained as a way to avoid adding another space-themed act to a label roster already associated with Starflyer 59 and Jupiter James.

Releases

LN's first EP is Cool September Skies, released in 1996. Later EPs include Plumb Brook, Imaginary Cars, Gravity Gun and Drawn By Swans, along with the 7-inch Without Your Song. The group also releases the albums Novel and the two-part Dirt Floor Hotel series, with Dirt Floor Hotel Part 2 described as the final LN release before Murray issues The Revenant Waltz under his own name in 2006.
