little parades

little parades is a French duo made up of Frédéric Nottey and Gilles Paulet. The group is active from 1994 to the present. It works in an experimental, ambient post-rock style and is based in Leeds, UK.

Formation and style

Little Parades meets in 2010 shortly after both members enrol at Leeds College of Music. The project develops an ambient orchestral sound built around layered vocals, guitar, electronica and drums. Its music draws influence from Efterklang, Explosions in the Sky and Sigur Rós.

Early profile

The band gains attention on the Leeds music scene after supporting Corinne Bailey Rae. Its live performances are described as expansive and immersive, with a hypnotic quality and a dense, multi-layered sound.
