Liquid Ross

Liquid Ross is a Detroit-born American artist and DJ, born in 1944, associated with contemporary R&B, disco, jazz, Motown, pop and pop soul. He is also linked to The Supremes, The Primettes and We Are Family Collective, and is connected with Rossville Music.

Music and DJ work

Liquid Ross works across trance, techno, progressive, ambient, electro, breaks and, in some descriptions, psychedelic trance, breaks and electro house. He spends more than a decade shaping the sound of trance on UK dancefloors, beginning with the Liquid Connective parties and later moving into label management and A&R for Liquid Records. He also holds a residency at Matter in London.

Live appearances and festivals

He performs at major trance and electronic music events around the world. These include Time and Space in Mexico, Boom Festival in Portugal, Universo Paralello in Brazil, Rainbow Serpent in Australia, Trimutri Festival in Russia, Aurora Festival in Greece, Honu Eclipse on Easter Island, Sonica Reloaded in Italy, Glastonbury, Sunrise and Glade Festival in the UK, and other events of a similar scale.

Liquid Connective and Liquid Records

Liquid Ross is described as a founder of Liquid Connective, the rave collective that leads into the later Liquid Records project. He serves as director of Liquid Records and works in both record label operations and party promotion. The label issues compilation albums, available through its website and through digital platforms such as iTunes and Beatport, as well as on CD.

Other activity

Alongside his DJ work, Liquid Ross also acts as a promoter. He is credited with helping to bring about events such as Glade Festival and a Shpongle Party presented by Twisted Records.
