Lime Cordiale
Lime Cordiale are an Australian group from Sydney, active since 2009. The band centres on brothers Oli and Louis Leimbach, with Nicholas Polovineo also listed as a member. Their line-up includes James Jennings on drums, Felix Bornholt on keyboard, and Polovineo on trombone and guitar. They also occasionally perform with Jackson, their guitar tech, who also plays music.
Style and background
Their sound is described as pop rock, with indie pop and indie surf among the genres associated with the group. The band’s formation is linked to the Leimbach brothers playing music together later in life, after they could spend time in the same room without fighting. Their classical instruments remain part of the group’s make-up, following encouragement from their mother.
Influences
Lime Cordiale draw on a wide range of influences, including French pop and Indian raga music, alongside everyday family life and late-night snacking. The result is presented as a quirky pop approach rooted in their Sydney background and brother-led line-up.
