Lil Texas is the performing name of Samuel Patrick Barry, a hardcore electronic music producer associated with Texas and Los Angeles. His work spans frenchcore, nu style gabber, rawstyle and uptempo hardcore, and his tracks often reach tempos of up to 200 BPM.

Background

Barry comes from a background in jazz and classical music before moving away from playing in a band and developing a solo identity centred on rave and hardcore electronic music. He is originally from Dallas, Texas, and is based in Los Angeles.

Releases and style

His hardcore debut is the original single I AM EXCITED. He is also associated with the wider TEXCORE movement, which he helps push through extremely fast and intense dance music.

Collaborations and collective work

Lil Texas has received support from Virtual Self, Kill The Noise and Pendulum. He works with artists outside hardcore as well, including MUST DIE!, and he remixes material by Lady Gaga and Elton John. He is also part of the M|O|D collective alongside Yung Satan, C.Z., Trap Arnold and Rewrote.
