Lil Dicky, also known as LD, is an American rapper and comedian from Cheltenham, United States. Born in 1988, he is David Andrew Burd. His music falls within comedy hip hop, hip hop, pop rap and trap, with comedy also central to his work.

Career

He comes to prominence with the music video for Ex-Boyfriend, which gains more than one million views on YouTube in 24 hours. His debut mixtape, So Hard, establishes his early style, and his debut album, Professional Rapper, follows in 2015. That album includes guest appearances from Snoop Dogg, Fetty Wap, Rich Homie Quan, T-Pain, Jace of Two-9 and brain.

In 2018, his song Freaky Friday, featuring Chris Brown, becomes a worldwide hit. His approach combines comedy, lyrical detail and self-deprecation, and he is described as a non-traditional rapper.

Early background

He starts rapping at a young age and, at 14, opens for the R&B group 112 at an overnight camp.
