Lights That Change
Lights That Change is an alternative ethereal dreampop group from Mold, active since 2008. The project is headed by Marc Joy, who turns his attention to his own music after many years producing other artists. The group’s sound centres on guitar-based dreamscapes and is associated with shoegaze, dream pop, ethereal and goth influences.
Releases and style
Lights That Change releases a debut EP, Rainbow On Your Shoulder, in 2013, followed by Whispers in February. Their music is described in terms of slow-burning pop, shoegaze atmosphere and shimmering, widescreen arrangements, with haunting vocal tones and understated guitar lines.
Recognition
The group receives support from BBC, Tom Robinson and Amazing Radio, among others. Comments attributed to writers and music figures also place their work in the context of classic shoegaze and early 4AD-style sounds.
