Liebknecht is an EBM project from Leipzig that combines techno, dancefloor elements, dark textures, cryptic messages, experimental sounds and straight, rhythmic beats. The music sits between oldschool electro and club culture, with a focus on techno soundscapes and a dark electronic palette.

Formation and members

The project is founded on 29 February 2012 by Daniel Myer and Rinaldo Bite. Daniel Myer is associated with Architect, Haujobb and Rendered, and his wider background shapes the project’s sound through several of his aliases and earlier work. Rinaldo Bite, also linked with Destroid and Static Sky, contributes an analogue approach built from sequences and sounds, which is particularly evident in the live setting.

Style and identity

Liebknecht presents itself as a blend of different strands of electronic music, drawing on techno, EBM and electro while keeping a strong club orientation.
