Let’s Talk Daggers are a three-piece experimental post-hardcore band from Eastbourne, UK. The line-up features Will Gunson, Jim Windless and Steven Berwick. Their music combines post-hardcore with art-punk, hardcore, jazz and metal, and they are also described as drawing on punk, chaotic and experimental elements.
Style and sound
The band plays loud, fast and frantic music with a strongly mixed style. Their songs bring together elements that can sound disjointed in other hands, but their approach is based on combining different sounds rather than fitting into a single scene. Their writing process is described as putting their favourite sounds into each song.
Recordings
Their self-titled debut EP is recorded with producer Nick Kinnish, who is associated with Architects, Johnny Truant, Blakfish and Throats. It is recorded in August 2009 and presents the band as a young group interested in experimentation.
In January 2010, they return to Serafina Studios to record the four tracks that make up Blankets. That release marks a more focused and mature step forward from the debut while retaining their original and restless approach.
Origin
Let’s Talk Daggers come from Eastbourne, a coastal town in the UK.
