Les Skalopes are a French ska group from Bures-sur-Yvette, in the Paris suburbs. Formed in 1997, they play a mix of ska and punk rock, and are active from 1997 to the present. Their line-up consists of 10 musicians, including a female lead singer, a rhythm section and a brass section.

Style and activity

Their music combines ska with a punk-rock approach and a strong brass sound. The lyrics are described as satirical and aimed at the failings of modern society. The group builds its reputation mainly through live performance rather than mainstream music-industry promotion.

Live work and collaborations

Les Skalopes have played more than 150 concerts and appear at concert halls, festivals and ballrooms. They have shared stages with The Toasters, The Slackers, Emir Kusturica, Inner Terrestrial and Les Fils de Teupuh. These performances contribute to their standing as a live band with a loyal and growing audience.
