Lenzman

Lenzman is a Dutch drum and bass producer and DJ from Amsterdam. He is born Teije van Vliet in Leiden and works in a deep, soulful style shaped by hip hop, soul, jazz and everyday experience. His music combines older, organic grooves with the energy and forward-looking approach of drum and bass.

Career

Lenzman first signs to Spearhead Records, where he begins developing his sound. He then releases a run of records in late 2008 and early 2009, including Ever So Slightly on Integral, Emeralds on Shogun Ltd, and a remix of Total Science’s Soul Patrol on C.I.A. These tracks receive strong support in clubs and on daytime radio in the UK, and help establish him as a notable new name in drum and bass.

Labels, releases and collaborations

He later signs music to a range of respected drum and bass labels, including Metalheadz, Soul:r, Critical, 31 Records, Shogun Ltd, Integral, C.I.A. and Subtitles. He also works with vocalists Jo-s and Riya, and is linked with collaborations with Lynx, Spy and Random Movement. An album project is also mentioned in connection with his work.

DJ work

Lenzman is a DJ before he turns to production, and his performances in Asia and across Europe help build his reputation behind the decks as well as in the studio.
