LeFtO

LeFtO is a Belgian DJ and producer from Brussels, born in 1976. He starts as a turntablist in 1996 and learns his first scratch and mixing techniques with AKRO of Starflam. His father borrows money to buy him two turntables, which becomes the starting point for his work as a DJ.

Releases and labels

In 2005, LeFtO completes a remix album titled Out Of The Blue for Blue Note, and around the same period he releases an instrumental beats EP that becomes especially in demand in Japan. The EP is later reissued by Blue Note Records in a box version in 2007. His work sits within hip-hop, beats and nu-soul, with a strong focus on instrumental production and turntable technique.

Radio, clubs and events

LeFtO is 1/2 of the radio show The HOP on Studio Brussel, where he presents mixes on Thursday nights. He also works as a resident for the Brussels black music parties called Wonderful. As a DJ, he performs in Amsterdam, Paris, Prague and across Belgium.
