Lee Watson writes and performs as a solo artist after spending much of a decade as a founding member of Vancouver’s The Breakmen, a group described as critically acclaimed. Born in Owen Sound, he grows up in rural Ontario, where his early exposure to Canadian songwriters and to music on vinyl comes from listening near his father’s turntable.

His solo work draws on traditional music and returns to his Ontario roots. The songs are shaped by the landscapes of the Ontario hinterland, including windswept pines and large lakes, and reflect a sense of awe and reverence for that region.
