Lee Mortimer
Lee Mortimer is a UK electronic music DJ, producer and remixer associated with house, electro house, fidget house and electro. He performs and produces bass-heavy club music and becomes known for sets built around heavy, electronic tracks.
DJ work and performances
Mortimer plays clubs internationally, including dates in Singapore at Club Zirca and in Australia at HQ/Revolver. He also appears at many UK festivals in 2009 and 2010, including Bestival, where he plays a daytime set that draws a strong crowd response.
Production and releases
As a producer, Mortimer has releases on Fool’s Gold, Dubsided, CR2 and Made to Play. He runs his own label, Wearhouse Music, which issues EPs and releases by artists including Foamo, Jaimie Fanatic, Douster, HiJack and Andy George. Releases on the label include the Champion Sound EP, and the label attracts support from figures such as Laurent Garnier.
One of his best-known productions is “Blau!”, a collaboration with Laidback Luke, which receives support from DJs including Crookers, Annie Mac and Tiësto. He also produces tracks such as “Superman” with Foamo and a remix of Visage’s “Fade to Grey”.
Remixes and collaborators
Mortimer remixes artists and tracks including Franz Ferdinand, The Futureheads, Bombay Bicycle Club, Foamo, DJ Zinc, Dave Spoon and Pete Tong. Many of these remixes appear on compilations associated with Claude VonStroke, Plump DJs and Kissy Sell Out. He receives praise from artists including Switch, A-Trak, Crookers and Steve Aoki.
