German band LAW

LAW, short for Life After Weekend, is a German band formed in Duisburg in 1993. The original lineup consists of Uli Rogosch on vocals and guitar, Uwe Skirde on bass, and Andreas Halfmann on drums and vocals. The group begins by rehearsing in the garage of Uli’s father, first playing Nirvana and U2 songs before writing original material. Marcel Jonen joins on guitar and vocals in 1996. The band plays its first concert in 1994 at a band contest, where it performs its own songs and wins. In 1996 it releases a 90-minute cassette containing 15 songs, which brings it wider local press attention. The band splits up in March 2006.
