Laurence Jones

Laurence Jones is a British blues rock and rock musician, singer-songwriter and guitarist. He builds a profile in the UK and across Europe through touring, and he is described as a young player in the blues-rock scene.

Career

Jones releases his debut album, Thunder In The Sky, in 2012. It receives a five-star review from Get Ready to Rock. By then, he is already touring widely through the UK and Europe and building an audience before the album appears.

He signs to Ruf Records, and his second album for the label, Temptation, is recorded at Dockside Studio in Louisiana. The album includes contributions from Walter Trout, Aynsley Lister, Yonrico Scott, Charlie Wooton and producer Mike Zito. Jones also attracts support from Walter Trout, who invites his band to join his 2013 UK tour.

Recognition

At the 2014 British Blues Awards ceremony at the Great British RnB Festival in Colne, Lancashire, Jones receives the Young Artist of the Year award.

Jones is associated with blues rock and is described as a guitarist with a strong live energy. His influences include Walter Trout, Eric Clapton, Gary Moore, Rory Gallagher and Albert Collins. He also appears on the Blues Fury CD alongside artists including Joe Bonamassa, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Popa Chubby.
