Laura James
Laura James is a singer-songwriter and dnb vocalist from England. She grows up surrounded by music through her father, blues musician Chris James, and begins writing songs and performing at a young age.
She first enters the Cumbrian folk circuit at 14 and records her first demo CD, Songs About the Weather, at 15. Two years later, a London-based media company records her second demo, What I Would Say, which is available on iTunes. She performs regularly in and around Cumbria and appears at festivals including Kendal Calling and Solfest.
Laura later moves to Liverpool to study music at The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, which is founded by Sir Paul McCartney in 1996. She also continues to focus on songwriting and performs in Liverpool and further afield.
A review quoted from one of her cafe live shows describes her as drawing immediate attention and notes the sweetness of her voice.
