Laughing Gravy

Laughing Gravy are a band that plays an eclectic mix of original roots-based music and is described as difficult to categorise. Their sound combines a wide range of styles, including blues-rock, country ballad, rogue jazz, bluegrass, folk and musical theatre.

The group is presented as four multi-talented professional composers, musicians and performers with many credits between them. Their instrumentation includes vocal delivery, National Steel and acoustic guitar, acoustic and electric banjo, upright bass and drums, with the banjo and rhythm section described as central to their sound.

The band’s approach is deliberately eclectic and original, with a style that blends contrasting influences into an unusual live performance. The name Laughing Gravy is also used by another act, a studio project featuring Dean Torrence of Jan and Dean that releases a single version of Brian Wilson and Van Dyke Parks’ Vegetables in 1967.
