LAUER

LAUER is Phillip Lauer, a German DJ and producer based in Frankfurt. He works in italo-disco and nu disco, and he is also active in deep house, house, tech house, techno and minimal contexts.

Early releases and labels

His first releases, mastered directly from cassette, appear as Plenty Ammo on Inbetween Records and later on the Real Soon label. He then releases material on Separe Recordings and Punkt Music.

Projects and collaborations

In 2004, he starts Arto Mwambé with CB Funk. He also appears in several named projects and collaborations: Tuff City Kids, Talamanca System, Win2Win, T & P and Black Spuma.

Brontosaurus and solo work

In 2006, he founds the Brontosaurus label, which he uses to release music by himself and by artists he describes as friends. He later works under his surname alone as Lauer. His debut album, Phillips, is released on Running Back in 2012.

DJ work

His DJ sets focus on the rougher side of proto dance music, and he makes only occasional DJ appearances.
