In the Myrtle Beach act, the pair meet as songwriters in Nashville and later marry before forming Latitude. Their repertoire is described as more than 500 songs, drawing on beach music, dance favourites and party material alongside their original songs. The music is also framed in relation to artists such as Jimmy Buffett, Gloria Estefan, Janis Joplin, James Taylor and James Brown.

Tom Becker sings and plays guitar. He previously performs with the New Christy Minstrels, a group linked with the early careers of John Denver and Kenny Rogers, and later has a solo career that includes opening for Willie Nelson, Jerry Jeff Walker, Jerry Lee Lewis and Ray Charles.

Michelle Becker plays keyboards and sings. She has opened for the Coasters, the Drifters and the Platters, and has also performed with Brenda Lee, Louise Mandrell, Lee Greenwood, Jim Ed Brown and Larry Gatlin. Her appearances include the Grand Ole Opry, work opening for Bill Cosby, TV commercials, music videos and radio jingles.

Live work and touring

The Myrtle Beach duo settle in South Carolina in 1995 and perform mainly across the southeastern United States, though they also play as far west as Hawaii, as far south as the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico, and in the Colorado Rockies. They are described as the first Carolina beach music act to perform in Switzerland.
