Lank is a Hungarian DJ and producer, Peter Golyán, who works in progressive house, house, chillout and electronic music. He begins composing music in his teens and develops a style shaped by folk, classical and electronic influences, with tracks that range from chill-out to tech-house.

Career

He joins Strictly!, one of Hungary’s prominent party series, in 2002. From that point he works publicly as both a DJ and producer and becomes known in Hungary, especially in the Budapest club scene, where he appears in many of the city’s major venues. He also performs alongside artists including Quivver, Shiloh, Johnny Orange, Anthony Pappa and Özgür Can.

Releases and airplay

From 2003 onward, his productions appear on compilation and mix CDs, including Mb Project – 60 Days Remix, Strictly! Collection, Quasar remixes 2004, Strictly! One mixed by Blueboy, and Terra mixed by Slam Jr. His music also reaches international DJ charts.

In 2005, he becomes one of the official DJs of the JustMusic.fm internet radio station, where the Strictly! team hosts a weekly show called Strict Thursday, alongside Slam Jr., Stone and SanFranciscoBeat. That same year he remixes Snake Sedrick’s Fields for Pure-Substance Records, and the track receives strong support in playlists. His work is also played on Frisky Radio’s Immersed and on Greece’s Danceradio.gr.

Labels and notable tracks

His track “Cowboys again” and “Slushy Dub” are released on Boz Boz Records, run by John “Quivver” Graham, while “Elfin” is issued by the Colombian label Progrezo Records. As a result of that release, he is also set to appear on the label’s radio show on ADN Radio Station.
