Lange

Lange is Stuart James Langelaan, a trance DJ and producer from Shrewsbury in the United Kingdom, born in 1974. He works in electronic and trance music and is associated with the STADIUM4 project.

Career

He emerges as one of the more prominent figures in the trance sound that gains wide attention in 1998, and he builds a reputation for consistent production work. His first major breakthrough is a remix of DJ Sakin’s Protect Your Mind, followed soon after by his remix of Lost Witness’s Happiness Happening, which enters the UK Top 20.

Across his career, he reaches 20 UK Top 40 entries, more than any other trance artist to date. He also appears on a film soundtrack and remixes tracks by mainstream acts including The Pet Shop Boys and Faithless.

DJ work and performances

Lange performs internationally as a DJ and appears for club brands including Godskitchen, Gatecrasher and Ministry of Sound. He also plays at festivals such as Global Gathering, Creamfields, Sziget, Sunrise and Balaton.

Label and recognition

He sets up Lange Recordings to feature his own productions as well as work from established and newer artists in the trance scene. The label continues to attract support from major DJs. Lange also appears in the Top 100 DJ Poll for eight consecutive years and reaches number 6 in the Tranceaddict Top 250 Poll.
