Lance Roark
Lance Roark is a country and country rock artist from Oklahoma, United States, with roots in bluegrass, country and Red Dirt. His music combines hard-driving rhythms with a vocal style and songwriting approach that focuses on everyday life, drawing on themes of joy, heartache and ordinary experience.
Style and background
Roark’s sound sits between traditional country and more amplified country rock, with twang, grit and soul at its centre. His work is described as staying close to bluegrass and country influences while moving into a heavier, more electric country-rock style.
Recording and collaborations
His debut EP, Better Man, appears in 2023 and includes collaborations with RC Edwards and Hank Early of Turnpike Troubadours. The release introduces his solo style and marks an important early recording in his career.
Live work and songwriting
Roark follows the EP with a run of sold-out shows across the United States. He also tours with Koe Wetzel, Turnpike Troubadours, Tanner Usrey, William Beckmann and Jason Boland & The Stragglers. His songwriting receives further attention through a co-write on Turnpike Troubadours’ single “Chipping Mill”.
