Laidlaw

Laidlaw is a United States hard rock and metal group formed in 1990 by Craig DeFalco and Buzzy James in Orange County, California. The band begins by working the club circuit for several years and sends tapes to record labels without success at first, receiving a number of rejections.

After several lineup changes, the group settles into a five-piece line-up of Craig DeFalco, Buzzy James, Darrell Millar, Michael Norton and Tommy Roberts in 1996. The band’s break comes when Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx hears one of its tapes and arranges for Laidlaw to open Crüe shows. He also signs the group as the first act on his label, Americoma.

Laidlaw releases First Big Picnic in 2000. The album presents the band’s Southern-influenced hard rock and metal sound.
