Lacerated And Carbonized are a death metal group from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. They form in 2006 with Jonathan Cruz on vocals, Caio Mendonça on guitars, Paulo Doc on bass and Victor Mendonça on drums.

Style and lyrical themes

The band plays an unrelenting and visceral form of death metal. Their lyrics focus on violence and degradation linked to their home city, including drug trafficking, police abuse, corruption and parallel state militias.

Releases and recording

Their debut album, Homicidal Rapture, appears in 2011 and receives a positive response in Brazil and overseas. The follow-up, The Core Of Disruption, contains 11 tracks and continues the same violent subject matter. Its mix and mastering are handled by Andy Classen at Stage-One Studios.

Collaborations and guest appearances

The Core Of Disruption includes guest contributions from Felipe Chehuan and Max Moraes of Confronto, Eregion of Unearthly, and Guilherme Sevens of Painside.

Touring and live activity

After Homicidal Rapture, the band tours South America, playing in Chile, Ecuador, Colombia, Bolivia and Peru. They also appear at major festivals in Brazil alongside Sepultura, Mayhem, Belphegor and Immolation. In 2012 they join The Flaming Arts Agency, which leads to an extended European tour with Vile and festival dates on the same circuit as Grave, Malignant Tumour and Pro-Pain.
