LaBrassBanda

LaBrassBanda is a brass band from Übersee, Germany, active since 2007. The group’s line-up includes Oliver Wrage, Andreas Martin Hofmeir, Manuel da Coll, Stefan Dettl, Manuel Winbeck, Mario Schönhofer, Tobias Weber, Jörg Hartl, Korbinian Weber, Stefan Huber and Fabian Jungreithmayr. It records on L.O.V.E. and is associated with brass band and folk music.

Style and sound

The band comes from southern Germany and plays a mix of styles that draws on musical influences from across Europe. Its sound combines brass instruments such as trumpet, tuba and trombone with elements associated with wedding music, Mexican mariachi, ska and Tyrolean polka. The result is a style that sits between Bavarian brass traditions and wider Balkan and European influences.
