Kyle Craft is a singer-songwriter from Shreveport and Portland, born in 1989. He is associated with alternative rock, indie rock and rock, and his wider tag history also places him in glam rock, Southern rock and folk contexts.

Background

He grows up in a small Louisiana town on the banks of the Mississippi, where he spends time catching alligators and rattlesnakes rather than playing football or learning guitar. He later describes himself as transient before settling in Portland, Oregon in 2015 after a three-year courtship with the city.

Recording and release

His debut album, Dolls Of The Highland, is recorded in Portland. The mixing process involves Brandon Summers and Benjamin Weikel of The Helio Sequence. The album also brings him to the attention of Sub Pop, while his label listing includes Fuzz Gnome Music.
