Kwes. is a record producer, songwriter and musician from Lewisham, United Kingdom. Born in 1987, he works in a style he describes as “freepop”, meaning pop music without fixed boundaries.

Career

Kwes. works as a solo artist as well as in collaboration with other musicians. He signs to Warp in 2011 and releases the single “Get Up” and the EP Meantime through the label. Before that, he issues his first limited-edition single and his debut EP on the XL Recordings imprints Salvia and Young Turks in 2009 and 2010.

Collaborations and remixes

He works with artists including The xx, Ghostpoet, Elan Tamara, Dels, Damon Albarn’s DRC Music, Leftfield and Micachu. With Micachu he is part of Kwesachu Mixtapes. He also reworks material by acts including Hot Chip and The Invisible.
