Kshmr is the electronic music project of Niles “Cyranizzy” Hollowell-Dhar, a producer based in Berkeley, United States. Born in 1988, he begins releasing EDM under the KSHMR name in 2013 after leaving the indie-pop duo The Cataracs.
Career
Kshmr first gains attention in the EDM scene with “Megalodon” in early 2014. He also works as a songwriter and composer for other producers, including Borgeous and DVBBS. His productions appear mainly on Spinnin’ Records, and he also releases on Dharma, Revealed Recordings and Ultra Records.
Notable releases and collaborations
“Burn”, a collaboration with DallasK, becomes an important early track for the project, reaching the Top 40 on Beatport before later going to number one. “Secrets”, made with Tiësto and Vassy, also becomes a major EDM hit and reaches the top of the Beatport chart. Other Beatport hits include “No Heroes”, “Dead Mans Hand”, “Kashmir”, “Dogs” and “Karate”.
