Kryn

Kryn is a Croatian progressive groove metal band from Rijeka. The group begins in 2004 under the name Downfall and changes to Kryn in 2008, when it moves away from its earlier melodic death metal phase and develops the modern metal style it is known for.

Style and live activity

The band’s sound combines heavy riffs, melodic passages, dark atmospheric sections and prominent vocals, with an emphasis on aggressive but also reflective material. It builds a reputation through energetic live performances, plays at festivals across Europe, and is also known for distinctive promotional events.

Releases and labels

Kryn releases its debut album, Scars Remind Me, through Eternal Sound Records. The album helps the band build a dedicated following. The group later signs with SPV / Install Records and releases Risset in 2024. That album features crushing riffs, haunting melodies, visceral lyrics and a prominent vocal performance, and continues the band’s focus on dense, emotionally charged metal.
