Kovacs is the stage name of Sharon Kovacs, a singer-songwriter from Eindhoven, the Netherlands, and the name she also uses for her backing band. She signs to Warner Music in 2014 and releases her debut album, Shades Of Black, in 2015. The record combines nightclub soul, jazz and R&B.

Her voice is described as soulful and is associated with comparisons to Beth Gibbons, Shirley Bassey and Edith Piaf. She cites Etta James, Dinah Washington and Nina Simone among her influences.

Separately, there are also two other acts using the name Kovacs: a six-piece band from Liverpool, formed from musicians from Canada, Ireland, Britain and Norway, and a Leeds-based project that develops out of Clodhoppa and works with breakbeat, with releases on Cone Records and Midnight Records.
