Kokomo

Kokomo is a post-rock, post-metal and instrumental group from Duisburg, Germany. It forms in 2008 and remains active. The line-up consists of Benjamin Hellig, Ansgar Koenig, Oliver Ludley, Rene Schwenk and Tobias Stieler.

Releases and sound

The band releases its first album, Matterhorn Bob and the Black Fair, in November 2009 and it receives a generally positive response. In the same year it also puts out a 12-inch split with Kasan. Its second album, If Wolves, follows in April 2011.

The group's music combines the atmosphere of post-rock, the textures of ambient music and the intensity of post-metal.

Band formation

Kokomo begins in mid-2008 and develops from the Duisburg post-rock scene. Early line-up details list the band as Oliver L., Rene S., Benjamin H. and Tobias S., with the project later established as a five-piece.
