Klockwork

Klockwork is a Spanish electronic group from Barcelona, active from 1990 to the present. The group’s early history begins with Frame, a two-member electronic act formed in 1990 by David Jornet and Vicenç. Frame builds a small following in the Barcelona tecno-pop scene and plays concerts in clubs including Akelarre, Toque BCN and Garatge. Its live sets include original songs as well as Depeche Mode versions.

After David and Vicenç part ways in 1997, David continues with his friend Ferran Pagès under the name Frame Too, performing at a Depeche Mode tribute festival in September 1998 at Sala Garatge Club. Following that show, they decide to keep making electronic music and begin working with VAMP SLAM, with producer Frans Beltrán supporting the project. In 1998 they start recording a full album and send a three-track demo to labels across Europe.

Recording and line-up

The album Collage follows from these sessions. In November 1999, Xavier Morera leaves the band. In February 2000, Raúl López joins; he previously plays in the gothic band Remembrance. Klockwork finishes its first album in January 2000. The group’s listed line-up is Ferran Pagès on lead vocals, Raúl López on keyboards and programming, and David Jornet on keyboards, programming and vocals.
