Kizmit

Kizmit is a five-piece indie and punk band from Portsmouth, formed in 2006. The group goes through changes in personnel after forming, which leads to a tighter and fuller sound in its established line-up.

Style and sound

The band mixes indie, punk and pop-punk influences into a distinctive collective sound shaped by the different musical tastes of its members. Its material combines direct, upbeat songs with more serious themes and social commentary.

Release

Its EP Time of The Contented Pig contains seven original songs. Among the tracks are We Are Here and Chin Up, which present a cheeky tone with underlying seriousness, and All Said and Done, which uses simple writing and vocal range to highlight Stu's singing. On The Run From The Law addresses inequality in the legal process and the idea that justice depends on wealth and social position. Why Play A Cover criticises bands and venues that rely on cover acts instead of supporting new music. Beautiful Women and Go Go Go (on the road) complete the EP.
