Kit Holmes

Kit Holmes is a UK singer, guitarist and songwriter known for her sultry vocals and virtuoso guitar playing. She releases music under her own name and has three albums: Seeing You, Catch The Echo and Driving into the Blue. She also releases a single, No You No Me, and an EP, It’s Over.

Albums and recordings

Her debut album, Seeing You, is released in 2004. The Observer describes it as “Macy Gray meets Nick Drake”, and Bob Harris and Andy Kershaw both feature her on their BBC shows. Her second album, Catch The Echo, appears in 2007 and features double bass player Danny Thompson; it receives a four-star review from All Music Guide. Her third album, Driving into the Blue, is released in January 2011. The Guardian gives it a four-star review and describes her as having “all the makings of a new British guitar heroine”.

Live work and appearances

Holmes tours extensively across the UK with guitarist John Etheridge. Her concert appearances include the Anne Frank Awards at the BBC, a master-class at Paul McCartney’s LIPA, the honorary doctoral ceremony for Bill Bryson and Andy Kershaw, and three headline shows at the International Guitar Festival of Great Britain.
