Kino
Kino is a British progressive rock group from the United Kingdom. It forms in 2004 and brings together John Mitchell on vocals and guitar, Pete Trewavas on bass, John Beck on keyboards, Chris Maitland on drums, and Bob Dalton, who joins live when Maitland has other commitments.
Line-up and background
The band centres on musicians associated with several established progressive and rock acts. John Mitchell plays in Arena, The Urbane, Frost* and It Bites. Pete Trewavas is known from Marillion. John Beck comes from It Bites, and Chris Maitland is formerly of Porcupine Tree. Bob Dalton, also from It Bites, appears in the live line-up.
Repertoire and releases
Kino releases its debut album, Picture, in 2005. The record draws attention from an international audience and receives positive coverage in the music press. The band also plays a number of It Bites songs live, which contributes to the later re-formation of It Bites with Mitchell as lead singer.
