Kinky Movement
Kinky Movement starts out in 1997 as a collective of DJs hosting underground house nights in and around Nottingham. The project is also involved in the UK free party scene, working with groups including Smokescreen, DIY and Shrewd. In 2004, three members of the crew — Andy Mcloughlin, Lee Eden and John Symms — become the producers for the act and begin releasing music on deep house labels such as Tango Recordings, Mobile Trax, Drop Music, Myna Music, Flavor Recordings, Amenti Music and So Sound Recording.
The group’s sound sits within house and funky house, with links to Chicago-style house and electronic music. Alongside studio work, Kinky Movement also DJs internationally and performs in countries including Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Georgia, Bulgaria and Belgium. Andy and Eden also launch their own label, Replay Recordings, which issues releases by the project, including Wrongdezvous? with vocalist Bonnie Wrongford and producer Mikkael.
Further releases are associated with Drop, Myna, Mindtravel and Replay Recordings.
