King David

King David is a US rapper from Prichard, Alabama, and the chief executive officer of Lordstyle Entertainment, which he starts in 2005. He emerges from the southern hip-hop scene as an artist and label head, with a focus on building a platform for hip-hop in Alabama. Lordstyle is created in dedication to his long-time friend Edwan Hosey, whose dream is to make music.

Career

King David begins Lordstyle Entertainment with a small roster that includes a few artists and two models. As he develops the label, he also starts releasing mixtapes himself. His early releases include Back to Skool, followed by Hard Hittin' Hillbillies Vol. 1, Stuck In That Alabama Mud Vol. 1, and Roach Spray. He also prepares a Lordstyle Mafia mixtape hosted by Mr. 2 Official.

He appears on a number of other mixtapes, including DJ Ames’ The UK's Mixtape Messiah, Grind Time hosted by Murphy Lee, DJ Chief Hustle Boy’s Hoods Of America Vol. 1, DJ Big Show’s Welcome To Alabama, DJ Frank White’s Gump's Most Hated Vols. 1 & 3, DJ Dirty Money’s TRAP BOI MUZIC 36-42, and DJ FullMoon’s Trunk Money.

Recognition

In 2007, King David is recognised by Dead Serious T.V. in Auburn, Alabama, and wins the Dead Serious Award for On the Grind. In 2008 he returns to the Dead Serious Awards and wins the Internet Swag award, while also being nominated for Most Hustle and Impact Artist of the Year. He is later nominated for the 2009 Indy Rap Artist of the Year by the SEA, and wins Hardest Grinding Artist from Real Talk Magazine in Mobile, Alabama. He is also featured in the second issue of Real Talk Magazine in 2008.

He receives further nominations for Hardest Grinding Artist and Internet Hustler of the Year from Maxximum Exposer, and additional Real Talk Magazine Awards nominations for Hardest Grinding, Mixtape Artist, and Internet Hustler of the Year in 2009. He is also nominated for Impact Artist, Industry Hustler, and Hardest Grinding in 2010 and 2011, and for Mixtape Artist of the Year at the S.E.A. in 2011.

Other work

Outside music, King David enters a business partnership in 2006 with Sonny and Tony of the Yang boys, making custom gold grillz and jewellery. He also moves into film through a project titled Tables.
