Kindred Spirit

Kindred Spirit is a glitch and electronic producer from Taipei. The name is also used by several unrelated acts, including a mid-1990s duo, an RAC project and a psychedelic garage rock band.

One Kindred Spirit begins as SmashBox, a short-lived all-female project made up of Gina Schock of the Go-Go's, Debbi Peterson of the Bangles, Wendy & Lisa, and Sara Lee of the B-52's. The line-up does not last long because of creative differences. After Miles Copeland signs the project to I.R.S., only Schock and Peterson remain. Schock later leaves while the duo is writing and recording a debut album, and Peterson continues under the Kindred Spirit name with Siobhan Maher, formerly the lead vocalist of The River City People.

A second Kindred Spirit is the RAC project of Paul Burnley and Svastika. A third is a psychedelic garage rock band known for the single "Blue Avenue".
