Killer Queen
Killer Queen is a UK Queen tribute group formed in 1993. Its first public performances take place at London University, following the route taken by Queen, who play their first shows there 21 years earlier.
By 1995, the group gains enough popularity in the UK to secure a residency at the Strand Theatre in London, drawing nationwide BBC coverage. It becomes the first tribute act to present a show in the West End.
The band’s profile continues to grow in the UK and overseas. In 1999, after touring Europe and Russia, it receives the award for “Worldwide Best Tribute Band” at a ceremony in Leicester Square, hosted by Suggs of Madness.
