Kikagaku Moyo

Kikagaku Moyo, whose name means “geometric patterns,” are a psychedelic rock band from Tokyo, Japan. They form in the summer of 2012, with Go Kurosawa and Tomo Katsurada founding the group. The band later announces an indefinite hiatus after 2022, with Kumoyo Island as their final album.

Recorded output

Their first release is a self-titled EP, issued in September 2013 on Cosmic Eye Records and Sound Effect Records. Their debut full-length album, Forest of Lost Children, follows in 2014 on Beyond Beyond is Beyond Records. They then release House in the Tall Grass in 2016 and Masana Temples in 2018, before Kumoyo Island appears in 2022.

Tours and live activity

The band tours throughout 2014 and plays in the UK for the first time that October, with several London shows selling out. In 2015 they tour extensively across Europe.

Line-up

The group consists of Tomo Katsurada on vocals and guitar, Daoud Popal on guitar, Ryu Kurosawa on sitar, Angie Gotopo on theremin and vocals, Kotsuguy on bass, and Go Kurosawa on drums and vocals.
