Kiefer Sutherland

Kiefer Sutherland is a singer-songwriter and actor who works in country, country-rock and contemporary country. He is born in 1966 and originates from Paddington, United States. He records on Ironworks and Sarah Jude Publishing.

He is the son of Donald Sutherland and Shirley Douglas, both Canadian actors, and the grandson of Canadian politician Tommy Douglas. He has Scottish ancestry from both parents and is a twin; his sister is Rachel. He is both a British citizen and a Canadian citizen. His family moves to Corona, California, and later his parents divorce in 1972.

He grows up in Canada after moving with his mother to Toronto in 1975. He attends Crescent Town Elementary School in East York, Toronto, and several secondary schools, including St. Andrew's College, Martingrove Collegiate Institute, Harbord Collegiate Institute, Silverthorn Collegiate Institute, Malvern Collegiate Institute and Annex Village Campus. He also spends a semester at Regina Mundi Catholic College in London, Ontario, and takes weekend acting lessons at Sir Frederick Banting Secondary School.

He reports that he shares a Hollywood apartment with Robert Downey, Jr. for three years when he first moves there to pursue acting.
