Kid Mac is an Australian hip-hop musician and filmmaker from Sydney. He builds his work around rap and film, and he appears as both a performer and a creative collaborator across music and screen-related projects.
Career
He gains attention after touring in the United States and performing in one of the world’s largest entertainment markets. Following that performance, the founders of the X-Dance film festival invite him back to perform again the following year. He also meets RZA of the Wu-Tang Clan during the trip, and describes him as one of his musical inspirations.
Kid Mac works in the studio and writing, collaborating with producers including Jamie Holt of Sydney rock band The Camels and Tony Wall, who has worked with Kanye West, Kiss, Olivia Newton-John and Jimmy Barnes. He also co-produces two tracks with RZA at Sydney’s Studio 301.
Releases and songs
He is best known for the tracks “The Jane Fonda” and “Mr Right”. Another single, “Showtime”, features a guest appearance by Taj Burrows in its video. He is also confirmed as the opening act for Mickey Avalon on an Australian tour.
