Keyside Strike

Keyside Strike are a hardcore punk group from Darlington, active since 2003. They form as a four-piece and include ex-members of Lowlife UK and Goatsniffer. The line-up is described as Stoney Strike on vocals, Big Neil Mortal on vocals, Ian The Goat on vocals, and J’ Belts’um on drums and percussion, and the group later adds a second guitar player after starting out as a three-piece.

History

The band forms in December 2003 and plays its first gig in January 2004. Since then, it plays throughout the North of England with a long list of other punk and hardcore acts, including Murphy’s Law, Bleed 13, Mingers, Assert, Apathy Syndrome, The Nothing, D-Rail, Tear Jerk, Maypole, Flickknives & Splinters, Lowlife UK, Dying Breath, Another Breath, 5 Knuckle, An American Obsession, Between Lines, Battle Royale, Loudmouth, Fude, Buzzkill, Marked for Death, Break it Up, No Turning Back, Internal Affairs, Wage of Sin, Demob, Sick On The Bus, Bring Me The Horizon, 3CR, 4 Past Midnight, Dead Pets, Demon 340, Today We Fight, Boobie Trap, Dogbite, Sick 56, Stuntface, The Hangmen and The Almighty Gimpfist.

Style and releases

The band presents itself as playing genuine hardcore punk rather than metal-influenced material, and it is associated with hardcore punk, punk, Oi, hardcore and skinhead scenes. Its first CD, Grin And Bear It, appears in 2005 on Hobson’s Choice Records and contains 10 tracks. A later release, Hit Me Again..., appears in December 2006 and is described as a further step in the group’s recording work and songwriting.
