Kevin Burke is an Irish fiddler born in 1950 in London to parents from County Sligo. He takes up the fiddle at the age of eight and develops a virtuosic technique in the Sligo fiddling style.
He becomes a member of The Bothy Band in 1976 and later joins Patrick Street in 1986. He also plays with Celtic Fiddle Festival from the group’s early years and is a member of Open House. He settles in Portland, Oregon in 1979 and lives there with his wife and two children.
Burke wins the National Endowment for the Arts' National Heritage Fellowship in 2002. He is associated with Loftus Music.
