Kenny Wayne Shepherd is an American blues musician from Shreveport, Louisiana, born in 1977. He is self-taught on guitar and starts playing at the age of seven, learning Muddy Waters lines from his father’s record collection. His father and manager, Ken Shepherd, uses his own contacts in the record business to help him secure a major-label deal with Giant Records.

Shepherd’s debut album, Ledbetter Heights, arrives in 1995 and includes original songs as well as a few covers. His later albums include Trouble Is... (1997), Live On (1999), The Place You’re In (2004), 10 Days Out... Blues from the Backroads (2007), and How I Go (2011). He is associated with blues, blues rock and rock, and is also connected with G3, The Rides and The Jim Irsay Band.

Shepherd converts to Catholicism and says that overcoming addiction becomes a theme in his work. He is married to Hannah Gibson, the daughter of actor Mel Gibson. He records on KWS Music, Inc.
