Kelley Swindall is a country and folk artist from Stone Mountain, New York. Her style combines bluesy folk, old-school country and an outlaw-country influence, with songs rooted in story-driven writing and talking blues.

Background

She grows up listening to Kris Kristofferson, Patsy Cline and David Allan Coe on the way to church each Sunday, reflecting the music her father plays. When she begins driving herself, she adds Ryan Adams, Tom Petty and Johnny Cash to that mix. Her work draws on a southern background and carries a gritty, witty tone.

Recording and performance

Her debut album, kelley swindall (pronounced ke le swine 'dl), is released in 2014. She performs regularly in New York City and on the road, both as a solo act and with New York-based musicians Matthew Albeck and Andy Rapoport in the Kelley Swindall Band, described as her alt-country blues rock project.
