Keel

Keel is a heavy metal band from Los Angeles, United States, active from 1984 to the present. The group is associated with glam, glam metal, hard rock, heavy metal and metal.

History

The band releases its major-label debut album, The Right to Rock, which is produced by KISS bassist Gene Simmons. Across its career, Keel places three albums on Billboard’s Hot 100 and builds a profile through MTV and radio exposure. Its best-known songs include “The Right to Rock,” “Because the Night,” “Tears Of Fire,” “Somebody’s Waiting” and “Rock N Roll Outlaw.”

Live activity and appearances

Keel tours widely and supports acts including Bon Jovi, Van Halen, Aerosmith, Mötley Crüe, Dio, Y&T and Queensrÿche. Its live schedule also includes the Monsters Of Rock Cruise, a first tour of Australia, the Frontiers Rock Festival in Milan, the KISS & Rock N Roll Expo in Helsinki, casinos, fairs and festivals in the United States, KEELFEST, and major bike events such as the Sturgis Rally and Hot Harley Nights.

The band’s members are Bryan Jay, Kenny Chaisson, Dwain Miller, Ron Keel and Steve Riley.

Related work

Ron Keel also works outside the band as a heavy metal, southern rock and outlaw country artist, and earlier performs with Steeler and briefly with Black Sabbath. His wider career includes songs placed in films and television, hosting rock radio shows, a podcast, and a lead role in the paranormal thriller Anomaly. He also launches RFK Media, a record label and media company.
