Kazz Kumar

Kazz Kumar is a Surrey-based singer and songwriter who performs as a solo artist and is a vocalist from Sona Family. Her music combines pop, rock, dance, R&B and electro, and her work is also closely associated with a distinctive, colourful fashion style.

Background

Kumar’s early musical influences include Michael Jackson, Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, Aaliyah, Gwen Stefani and Linkin Park. She begins as part of Sona Family and spends four years with the group before moving on to solo work.

Career

She tours internationally, releases an album, and performs for large audiences. Her live appearances include Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2009, a BBC Maida Vale live session, Bombay Bronx at BBC Radio 1 DJ Nihal’s birthday event with Tim Westwood, and Monto Water Rats.

Recordings and collaborators

Her solo album features productions from Harry Sona, Producer B and S6 Boy, including the track “The Love Song”. Her debut single, “Dirty Word”, is released in 2009.
